Amanda Greene co-founded the Hypopara Research Foundation in 2018. In 2016, following a total thyroidectomy, Amanda got surgically acquired hypoparathyroidism. Very quickly, she realized there was a lack of options for treatment. She and her husband started the Hypopara Research Foundation to push forward research for hypoparathyroidism, a historically underfunded orphan disease. She graduated with a bachelor’s from Pepperdine University (2008) and a master’s from the University of San Francisco (2011).
